About this accommodation
Whitchester provides a place of rest and refreshment with a Christian ethos and is both guest house and retreat centre. The refurbished Victorian Country House with its peaceful ambience is set in 3 acres of landscaped garden and woodland. An ideal base to take time apart from the busyness of life or to explore the beauty of the surrounding countryside with its rich history. The Heritage Hub, in Hawick, is only a 10minute drive. The historic houses and abbeys of the Borders are easily accessible by car and if the tide times are suitable it is possible to have a day visit to Lindesfarne.
With gazebo and summerhouse for the warmer days of summer and a log fire in winter, both house and grounds provide space to relax. The annexe has two ground floor twin rooms suitable for those with disabilities and a ground floor single room in the main house.
Where possible we use home grown and local produce for our varied menu. A vegetarian option is available and we are able to cater for more specialised diets with prior notice.
